Our Mission

At Ubuntu Alliance, our mission extends beyond wildlife conservation to include the empowerment of local communities. We believe that sustainable conservation is only possible when people and nature thrive together. Our ‘Community Empowerment’ initiatives focus on creating education, employment, and sustainable development opportunities for the people living in the regions where we work.

Through these projects, we aim to foster self-reliance, improve livelihoods, and contribute to the long-term socio-economic development of South Africa. By empowering communities, we help ensure that both people and wildlife can flourish for generations to come.

Education

Ubuntu Alliance provides essential resources and opportunities for local communities, ensuring that education serves as a foundation for future generations. By empowering people with knowledge and skills, we contribute to long-term conservation efforts and socio-economic development.

Job Creation

Our sustainable job creation initiatives are closely linked to conservation projects, offering local communities meaningful employment while protecting the environment. These efforts ensure that economic growth and wildlife preservation go hand in hand.

Partnerships

Ubuntu Alliance collaborates with international businesses and local initiatives to build partnerships that create long-term impact. Together, we support conservation projects while fostering socio-economic development, making a lasting difference for both nature and people.

Testimonials

Waterberg Landscape Alliance (WLA) is a non-profit company with a proud history of successfully promoting, fostering, supporting, facilitating, coordinating and monitoring sustainable landscape biodiversity conservation initiatives and the combatting of wildlife crime in the Waterberg for the benefit of its broad spectrum of communities and landowners.

We are extremely proud of our long standing relationship with Ubuntu Alliance and eagerly anticipate an ‘on-the-ground’ collaboration between our two organisations focussed on implementing and monitoring  desperately needed high impact initiatives in our UNESCO recognised and preciously biodiverse Waterberg.

In October 2023, we traveled with Erwin and Liesbeth to Marataba, a breathtaking private reserve in South Africa. The luxury, small-scale lodge was nestled in the heart of nature, with elephants coming to drink nearby. We went on impressive game drives with expert guides and enjoyed evening boat rides among the hippos on the river. The highlight was observing a rhino tracking operation up close. The passion for conservation was evident in everything. This was not a tourist experience, but a unique insight into real conservation. Thank you, Erwin and Liesbeth, on behalf of Jan and Lianne Voesenek, it was fantastic!
