Wildlife “Uniting to protect what cannot be replaced”

Ubuntu Alliance is committed to safeguarding South Africa’s most iconic endangered species: the rhino, wild dogs, pangolin, and cheetah. Through dedicated conservation efforts, we work to protect these animals and preserve their habitats. Our goal is to create a future where both wildlife and people thrive in harmony.

Rhinos

Rhinos get poached at a rate
of >3 animals a day!

Why they are endangered

Rhinos are being systematically slaughtered for their horns, pushing the species to the brink of extinction within the next decade. Food For Rhinos is a sanctuary in South Africa, founded to offer these majestic creatures a secure refuge, free from poaching and harm. Their work is essential to preserve rhinos for future generations, ensuring their survival and welfare.

35 RHINOS POACHED IN KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
WITHIN THE FIRST SEVEN WEEKS OF 2025.

This comes after 19 rhinos were killed in the Kruger park in December 2024.

Whom We Serve

Adult Rhinos
These are rhinos that were forcibly removed from reserves due to poaching threats or the loss of family members to poachers. These rhinos need a safe and nurturing environment.

Injured Rhinos
Rhinos of all ages who have been physically harmed by poachers, suffering bullet wounds, knife injuries, or attacks from pangas. These rhinos require urgent medical care and long-term rehabilitation.

Orphaned Baby Rhinos
These young rhinos have lost their mothers to poaching. They need round-the-clock bottle-feeding, nurturing, and protection to grow strong and healthy before they can be safely reintegrated into the sanctuary.

What is being done with every donation

Food to sustain rhinos on a daily basis.
Security to protect rhinos from poaching.
Medical care to ensure the health & rehabilitation of    injured or orphaned rhinos.
Land expansion to offer more space for rhinos in need.

Our role

Ubuntu Alliance is actively involved in safeguarding rhinos by funding anti-poaching teams, advocating for stronger wildlife protection laws, and raising global awareness.

Wild dogs

There are fewer than 600 African
wild dogs remaining in South Africa.

‘The Vital
Balance Keepers’

Why their survival matters

African wild dogs play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem by regulating prey populations. Without them, entire ecosystems could collapse.

The Waterberg Wild Dog Initiative (WWDI) promotes the conservation of the Waterberg Wild Dogs by working within the community to monitor and collect data on the population, provide education, raise awareness, implement projects to mitigate threats, and promote the dogs’ ecotourism potential in the region.

THERE ARE 23 CONFIRMED WILD DOGS LIVING IN THE WATERBERG.

Divided amongst 4 different communities.

How we protect them

Threat Mitigation implement strategic projects to    help mitigate short- and long term threats.
Research in population’s demographics and    movements.
Ecotourism Potential promoting the ecotourism    potential
Education & Awareness educate and raise awareness.

Ubuntu Alliance’s impact

We collaborate with Waterberg Wild Dog Initiative to create safe habitats, support research, and engage communities to protect these vital predators.
